I like the look for the colorgrading workflo in 17. I was thinking of doing just this if I upgraded. Just don't save over that original 16 project in 17 and you won't break backwards compatibility with 16. If you really want to know you have 16's stability, but also want to take advantage of 17's new features, you could always edit in 16, put the final touches/coloring/etc in on 17 afterwards, that way you have a fully edited backup project saved in 16 ready to fall back on should you experience any issues. and upgrading to 17 doesn't mean you have to uninstall 16, so I would download the 17 demo, start a test project in it, make sure all is well, do a quick test render to make sure that part works ok (just gotta limit renders to 2 mins in the demo), and then you can buy from there and keep editing in 16 until you are confident 17 can handle your work load reliably. Vegas/VEGAS ownership/version releases (see also the changelog here)Įarly usability problems have been very minor and there have only been one or two cases that I can think of where we were not able to easily find a solution to any problems experienced, so I'd say it's pretty stable.
